The 36mm Acoustibeam: the batten of New Era’s acoustic floors, laid on New Era acoustic cradles under Silent Ply or Quiet Plank to make a floating floor that keeps impact sound out of the structure below. In the Silent Ply system the battens run at 400mm centres, with a cradle every 450mm along each one.

What it does
New Era’s acoustic cradle and batten floor is tested at AIRO laboratories for Part E, as an FFT2 resilient cradle and batten system under the Robust Detail Handbook.
Laminated from poplar plywood rather than sawn from solid, so there are no knots or shakes to work around and the batten will not twist or warp in service. The lamination is what makes a thin section usable as a sprung floor batten.
