Nike Olympic Basketball Court Installation in a Converted Warehouse
The brief
This purpose-built basketball court was commissioned by Nike for the Olympics, requiring full compliance with BS EN 14904 Part A4 sports standard. The project posed a unique challenge due to the gradual slope across the converted warehouse space.
The solution involved the installation of New Era Sports cradles, ranging from 74–320 mm, to level the floor perfectly. The cradles were fitted on a Delta FM membrane at 411 mm centres to accommodate the Junckers black-stained beech flooring, providing a high-performance, resilient surface suitable for elite sports use.

Specified and installed New Era Sports Cradle System (S1 to S11) to meet BS EN 14904 Part A4 sports standards. Achieved a perfectly level floor across the sloped warehouse space with cradles ranging from 74–320 mm, fitted on Delta FM membrane at 411 mm centres, ready for Junckers black-stained beech sports flooring.
